Dear Heiko,
You say that you are a complete beginner - but in the first place on whose advice did you go and buy the kit or MC board that you refer ? And where is that guy now ? Did it not come with any manuals ? It is just bad luck that it has a 82c55 - not a very easy peripheral chip to handle ( and lot of people on this forum can tell you why ). Dont worry about the other two chips mentioned by you -they are just digital gates and latches to get the board going. But I am sure none of what I said are going to help you start programming - for that you have to start with the basics of 8051 core and then get a grip on that MC board manual .
