I am currently designing a keypad that will incorporate an 4x16 lcd display. I am currently adjusting the lcd display contrast adjustable via digital pot and op-amp ie. (too expensive).

I am looking into designing a possible manual pot and thermistor to auto adjust contrast.

Has anyone every use such a cirucit?

Does anyone have another cheaper solution to adjust the contrast?
