What I do...to discover which addresses display where on an LCD with an unknown address mapping is to start at address 0x00 and write characters in ASCII order for the full length of the controller memory. Then looking at the screen I can see what charactera appeared where. Seems so obvious but maybe it is trick only some have thought of.
