A Microprocessor is a general term that identifies a central processing unit contained in a single chip.
A Microcontroller is single chip that contains not only a central processing unit but also memory and i/o ports, making it a complete system capable of controlling devices with very little additionnal hardware. A Microcomputer is a complete computer that generally uses a microprocessor. A PC is an example of this. |
