#52620 - shadow port explanation |
I been exposed to the concept of a shadow port, My understanding is:
a port who's output cannot be read directly by the programmer. The shadow port (memory location)is updated whenever the port is written to. To read the value of the port, I would read it's shadow. This seem some what strange, is this a method to save money on the processor? Are there limitations regarding port usage? any other explanations would be helpful. Spencer |
