Actually, shadow port, image byte, and mirror port are all referring to the same thing... a location in memory that holds a carbon copy (uh oh, ANOTHER name!) of the contents of an output port. The contents of the shadow port AND making sure that those contents get written to the associated output port are completely the responsibility of the code written by the programmer. |
