#53759 - RE: ADuC812 with grafik LCD Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hi Benny,
The CE is the Chip Enable signal. When this signal is active, it allows the LCD module to receive / send commands and data to / from the microcontroller (in your case ADuC812). This signal is generated using an address decoding circuit (such as 74HC138). But in your circuit I don't see any other external devices than the LCD. In that case you can connect any unused port pin to this and activate / deactivate the LCD through the port pin. Use an unused xdata address range. The C/D is the Command / Data signal. It is used to indicate the LCD module whether it is receiving command or data. For example "data" could be what you want to display on the LCD and "command" could be where you want to display. Usually, C/D is connected to address A0, if you are using an address decoding circuit. That way, you can use address xxx1 and xxx0 to access the command and data registers of the LCD. Again, in your case an unused port pin could be used. If port pins are used for CE and C/D, software is required to realise these functions. I would suggest you to study the datasheet a LCD module using T6963 (although, pin assignments may vary but the signals means the same) as well as the datasheet of T6963.
