The main problem isn't as you said:

I have searched and searched and cannot find anything about resistors' type of question.

but it may gives you above 1 million page only 10 may contain what you want even if you add more searchable words to narrow this hole.So it may be easier that to get by friends who have a previous knowledge of the issue and deal with it before so they can guid you to the right way to the data you want.
