#53973 - RE: radio control using 8051.. how to do it?
Responding to: ???'s previous message
just send the commands stream to the infrared diode to transmit?

If you are thinking of RF signals to a LED to transmitt
- the answer is a biiiig NO. !

RF is transmitted via a small telescopic antenna or at times a small piece of wire is all you need for the "antenna" and same for reciever - you are going to control from within a room .

OK lets do some ground work to start =

For some reason you want to use RF as the data link. So be it.

But first you need to decide how many channels you want to control - what I can think of is

1.Standby / Power ON
2.Fan Speed 1
3.Fan speed 2
4.Fan speed 3
5.Compressor ON / OFF
6.Air swinger ON / OFF
7.Increase Temperature setting
8.Decrease Temperature setting

Having finalized the above, then you start work on the keypad encoding - like what data pattern you will transmitt when Item 1 is selected and so forth.

Once the data pattern is finalized then you study the RF transmitter manual to check the suitability of same and the way to feed it to the input of the module for modulation.

Now the next is the reception of the modulated RF - no problem here as it will be handled by the pretuned and matched reciver. But you need to read its output, extract the data from the carrier and then decode it. Once decoded you activate the relevant output relay / solenoid etc based on the bit pattern.

Not difficult. Not easy either. All depends on your drive to learn in the process of doing .

And just to check here is a link:

Good luck
