#54230 - RE: UMPS SOFTWARE SERIAL LINK
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Hi Raghu. Yes have the book by Myke Predko.

I set the cpu clock freq 11.059
serial transmitter connects to P3.1
baud rate at 2400
number of data bits 8
stop bit 1
parity = none
word/line = 8
address position $0000
display bit = 8
start address =$0000
end address =$0001
In the configuration window i set transmit to P3.1
now sure what to do with Hclk. Have set it to both
1&0. save configeration.
disable handshake.

simple program.

ORG 00H
init: MOV SCON,#52H ;serial port, mode 1
MOV TMOD,#20H ;timer 1, mode 2
MOV TH1,#-13 ;reload count for 2400 baud
SETB TR1 ;start timer 1
MOV A,'Z' ;mov code to A
CLR TI ;clr tx flag
MOV SBUF,A ;send character
SJMP $
END

When i single step the program, value ACC goes into SBUF. No value shows up in the transmit window memory
address 0000h location.
