 		 #54281 - Keeping time using T0
I would like to run an 8051 on batteries and have it operate for 3 weeks. (I may need a car battery, but that's anther problem). I‘m using a ATMEL 89h2051 and it draws about 4 to 5 ma when running.

One of the requirements is that it keeps time. Would it be better to use a timer0 or us an external RTC IC?

In this situation is there a standard practiced.
