Yes. Unless it shows a sinus as a square ! Abhishek, I think there has to be a specific reason as to why you want to do what you want to do right now ... 1. Lugging the oscilloscope to the field is a problem : In which case a desktop PC is worse. Here one would go with a notebook PC + Convertor card with USB port. This apart from being handly CAN burn a big hole in that pocket of yours. 2. I want to store waveforms for future analysis : Yes this could be one benefit of the PC cards. 3. Calibration and precision : I am skeptical in this aspect. I think a standalone Oscilloscope is much easily calibrated than a PC card which anyway has to operate in the middle of digital madness sharing the same PCI bus with other peripherals. 4. And last - an oscilloscope will not hang on you while capturing the most interesting part of the curve that your signal generator is pumping out.... Raghu |
