#54419 - RE: Eric: Boot ROM of P89C51RD2 Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Dear Sushil,
Yes go ahead and use the P89c51rd2. And all those "jinxed" stories are from people who have used a simple R/C reset. I can tell you this from personal experience - the day I started using a reset controller + brown out detector like the DS1732 - this issue of vanishing boot vectors etc are a thing of the past. And just in case you do mess up the BV and SB then take time to read through Erik's No Touch method and Emergency route to enter ISP mode. And use them as required. I have used this MCU in varied applications starting from mobile trucks( the battery drops to 3 volts when the engine cranks !!) to industrial applications to welding machine accessories. Need more proof ? Discalimer : I dont get any sales commission from Philips for each 89c51rd2 sold!! Raghu |
