#56496 - SMS - (weekend)
Most times I used to wonder at the indignation of some very senior members when someone writes pl for please and u for you.

In these days of on line chatting coupled with peek-and-poke typing skills, these SMS codes do save time or shall we say, save the session from timing out.

But now I think I see the reason for this irritation at SMS in this forum. Erik had mentioned this in a thread on Accurate Temperature ..

1. It is a professional forum and hence let every word be written completely. After all in an official letter you dont write "ThanX" or "TanQ" or "TIA" when closing.

2. Many members do not have English as thier native language and can find it difficult with abbrievated words.

That should seal it.

Maybe Craig can make it as point number 6 in the guidelines for posting in the forum.

Have a great weekend friends.

Raghu
