Sorry, I'm not quite sure what you're getting at here. Are you objecting something that I wrote specifically, or is this a general comment to all? "A bit of kettle and pot type action going on here i think." Sorry again, but if you are referring to what I wrote, could you give an example of the kettle/pot action? I am truly trying to understand other points of view about language and culture. Just as an example, there is this English (American?) language variant called "Ebonics" and this is all serious stuff that is the subject of linguistic study. Also teachers have increasing complaints about IM-speak showing up in students' work. Some think it's good, some think it's bad. |
