#56873 - Long Range radio control
I had earlier worked on a remote controlled tractor. All functions of Start / Stop engine , Increase / Decrease throttle , Turn L / R , and Brakes were implemented. The basic link was a 12 channel industrial remote normally used for cranes ( 433 MHz )and the reciever signals were read and synthesised into control outputs for the tractor by a 89c52. The throttle required an incremental up/down adjustement and I managed this with simple digital signals and a stepper - worked very well. This project is over and complete. The range was about 100 Meters.

Now there is a fresh requirement to control an unmanned vehicle with an increased range of upto 1km on plain terrains. I would be happy to get some sources / links which can supply the required transmitter and reciver - preferably with no license requirements.

A Google search threw up some sites - but most of them were in the security and safety departments - with just a single channel. I will need atleast 8 to 12 channels.

Thanks for your time.
