Does anyone know of off the shelf STANDARD character LCD modules with serial interfaces (I2C, SPI ) ? I can get add-on boards, I can make my own, but I can't see a stock unit from the likes of Optrex or Epson. My distie wants to sell me an interfac board that costs more than the display ! Surely someone is making a serial unit by now ?
