#57570 - RE: Switchers - dirty ?
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Just a thought since Mike had mentioned about the switchers. Aren't those guys more "dirty" in the sense that the ripple is way above a well designed linear supply ? And when drastic load changes occur, the output ripple is a sight to see on a oscilloscope.

In fact I have seen in some cases where inductive proximity switches were permanently ON when powered with a switcher but behaved normal when a linear power source was used. Accepted that particular switcher must have had a problem.

Maybe I have not come across professional switcher power sources - and have this bad bias aganist them.

But what is the reality - some of you must be using them is a big way ?

Thanks

Raghu
