#57573 - RE: Voltage regulator heat
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Okay, that all makes sence.

BTW, the 80mA spec is only during short periods. The device spends most of its time below 1mA. I was just curious about the normalcy of the heat disipation.

Here is my situation. The user has the option of two different power sources. A 9 volt battery or a plug-in wall transformer. I *had* been using a 9vDC, but its obvious that a 7-6v would be a better solution.

However, I'm kind of stuck with the 9v battery. Is there anything I can do to "step it down"?

Thanks
James
