#58018 - (Off Topic) NVRAM instead of (E)EPROM
It's a sugestion for the hobbists/newbies, like me.

From time to time hobbists developers have to find a way to store permanently their work to test a project without a computer near to program a development kit.

Usually we have to use (E)EPROMs, each with their erasing and programming issues.

In these cases we can use NVRAMs, that are pin-to-pin compatible with (E)EPROMs and static RAMs. They are static RAMs with a battery backup circuitry in the same package. I use the DS1225 and DS1230 (8K and 32K), but there are more:

they are more expensive, but it´s very nice stop using the burner and eraser :-)
