Sorry about the rush, the AN529 mentioned does not suit your need. Take a look at page 6 of http://www.semiconductors.com/acrobat/a.../an429.pdf
The example there is better. Using darlington array ULNxxxx is also a good idea to replace multiple transistors.

If you do an Internet search yourself, you can find the answer yourself. That's exactly how I did.
