#6041 - RE: help me about seven segment display for |
I always like to bus everything. My bus, port 1 sends out 2 BCD digits. I send them to 2 4511 BCD to 7-segment latch. The latch converts the BCD number, any number from 0-9, and sends it out over a 470ohm (5V/470ohm=10mA) resistance to the common cathode display. I use port 3 to decode numerous CEs.
This is the method I prefer but you could always use a lookup table to create your own special characters from the display. In this case you can most likely (depending on the display size and current needed) use a common anode 7-segment display connected after display with 470ohm resistance. In this case a 0 on the output port causes the segment to light. As previously stated the 8052 can't drive to much current from the port. John John |
