I wanna make an atomic bomb, but I can't even tie my shoe laces. What hope have I got?

We want freq to voltage to apply to a servo system. What is doing the loop control? Obviously the phase response of the f/v conversion is going to be critical - I think a more holistic approach is needed here.

Analog Devices has some parts to do f/v conversion but somehow I don't think this is going to solve the whole problem.
