first of all it is not "very" off topic
a microcontroller is a part of a bigger system - i never used a micro just to turn leds on and off - i m not doing a homework - i m trying to build a system
and systems are not just microcontrollers

i have designed a positioning modul for my 8052 board
it gets encoder pulses , measures position and sends analog output to servo drive
if you already familiar with servo systems
you would know that these days servo motors come with 2500 pulse encoder built in
however they have no tachometer
or it is additional cost

i have to send analog speed command to servo drive as well as tacho feedback
now my tacho generator is a LM2917 but the motor turns with vibration ( not smooth - stop and go) becouse LM2917 response is very slow - it cannot react fast to speed changes - i feel i need a tachometer with at least 1 ms response time - i think 1000 Hz bandwith / i forgot theory - long time since university years

LM2917 input is 10000 pulses / second maximum and i calculated the external components to give 10V output at this speed

i have searched internet for LM2916 but i found nothing
