Hi

I have a project to control an Airconditionar turn ON/OFF with a TRIAC. the Triac is controlled with a 8051 via an Opto coupler.

I used Phillips BT139 triac, it worked ok upto 1000w load, but it did not take airconditional load (fuse blown).

Any idea, what type of TRIAC will be suitable, and what an Aircon load and startup current etc.
