That's a mighty big toilet!
The turkey comes in because in the northeast part of the US (that portion which WAS a British colony, Steve) turkeys were plentiful wild game and, presumably, that which the early colonists ate for meat in addition to the odd fish, elk, deer, etc. There are still wild turkeys in many parts of the US. As an example, I was riding the lead locomotive on a business venture in western Maryland about 1994. We rounded a bend and there were more turkeys running across the tracks than I oculd count. I don't recall stopping to cook any of the stragglers, though. Bruce |
