Additional flexibility could also possibly be attained by using another section of the '4066 chip to control the on/off state of routing the signal from the ISD chip to the phone line interface. I'm not so sure of the drive characteristics and input impedance of the phone interface that Shahzad so it is hard to suggest component values but just a concept.....There may be times when you would like to have audio from ISD go to speaker but not to phone.
