Hi John,
880mA sounds, that it must be smelling after power on. Please check the VCC, GND connections on every device, also if they not reverse inserted and check the polarity of the electrolytic caps. The 8051 is power eating (200mA) in opposition to the 80C51 (20mA). So a whole consumption of 250mA can be normal. I miss the address latch (e.g. 74HC573) in your sheet. Peter |
