Looks like you have to decided to stay on with the same topic ( but with different headings) till you get the answer that you "feel" is to your liking !

In fact your previous post "Laser positioning system" attracted some 40 odd responses - and coming from experienced members - had so much content in them and if I were you, would have dropped this idea of mirror-tape-laser stuff long back. And even in this thread, Michael Karas has given you so many pointers to check and refine your approach.

Quite frankly you are jumping the gun in asking sample code for timer, when the basic algorithm is not frozen. And if you are new to MCU programming ( going by your queries ) then position resolving by triangulation is not a simple thing to implement.
