#60664 - Mode-3 = Multiprocessor Responding to: ???'s previous message |

Arnt we overlooking the very real possibiltiy of both the slaves accesing the master at the same time? Not if we have a proper Master-Slave setup, where the slaves just speak when they're spoken to. Mode 3 makes it easy for the Master to address each Slave; if the chip has the enhanced UART, it can do the address matching in hardware, so there's virtually no software loading! This is why it's called "Multiprocessor Mode" - because it's designed precisely for this situation! |
