#60741 - RE: Keil\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s Tiny - 2
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Airbus for exp. requires for new designs a RTOS for Software in uControllers in ovens/coffeemakers etc.

Yes, it is so easy to say "all" instead of making a list of which devices has to pass the "air safety standard"

Embedded systems for (I hope someone will exclude coffemakers someday) aircraft equipment does not just require a RTOS, it requires a certified RTOS.

To get an embedded system onboard an airplane you have, fortunately, to pass umpteen certifications.

A short while ago one of the magazines had an article about certification of embedded systems for aircraft - very interesting.

So, if you make a coffemaker for an airplane, you need to include a RTOS. Does that mean that you should do that for a terrestial coffemaker - hardly.

Werner,
do you really want us to preface everything with "excluding a few abnormal cases this..."

Erik
