#60983 - RE: extrn...
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Hi,

did you tried it really? maybe do I look as idiot? Why people cannot pay some minutes reading data sheets before ask for so simple things? Okay, I DID it myself and as I said - it works very well. Here it is:

First file called "lcd.asm":
LITE	BIT	P2.1

PUBLIC	LOOP
PUBLIC	LITE

	CSEG	AT 0x0200
LOOP:
	SETB	LITE
	JMP	$

	END
Second file called "main.asm":
EXTRN	CODE (LOOP)
EXTRN	BIT (LITE)

	CSEG	AT 0x0000
	JMP	START

code_main	SEGMENT	CODE
	RSEG	code_main
	USING	0

START:	CLR	LITE
	JMP	LOOP

	END
Both files are connected to test project then compiled together. And after all the result code is dubugged step-by-step from START up to JMP $. It WORKS, really!
Moreover, you may use LITE EQU P2.1 instead BIT P2.1 - it still works! But I preffer clean type definition anywhere.
As about NUMBER keyword: why do you do things by such way when there is the simple and correct way I suggested? NUMBER keyword cannot say to compiler about variable data type because EQU has not defined it. Use right way!
