anybody pls gv me some advice on programming st16c550.

how to test whether the chip is functioning?

i just send a char continuosly to thr buffer but the tx pin of st16c550 is idle all d time.

if i send chr to thr, the char will be sent to tx pin of st16c550 rite?

another thing is when interrupt is enabled, if thr or rhr is full, which pin is activated as interrupt?int,rxrdy or txrdy?
