#61283 - RE: P89c51 output drive of P2 Responding to: ???'s previous message |
"Nevertheless the technique of using 9 octal latches to drive 9 digits seems a little brutal in this day and age - "
I know. It does sound odd. This whole equipment was designed some 12 years back and they were using 8085 MCU ! ( I wonder how they missed a 8255 ) This was ported to the 8051 MCU recently - with great difficulty. The octal latches however could not be eliminated as the client seems to have a great fancy for these chips ! Raghu |
