I like to make use of Linux open source code to figure things out, or to take advantage of things others have figured out.

In this case I searched for "IR remote" on the Freshmeat site, which directed me to LIRC. Linux Infrared Remote Control has a large number of remote controls decoded on their site, including Samsung. Maybe your remote will be on the list.

Assuming it is, you will still have to use the available information and figure out how to use in on your 2051, but it's a start.
