#61645 - RE: problem to distinguish USB chips
Responding to: ???'s previous message
I believe that if you don't need USB 2.0 high speed, you can use other Cypress chips, instead of EZ-USB FX2 (CY7C68013). But I told you the previous time, that you were asking about memories, to use DS80C400 from Maxim/Dallas, that has on-chip TCP/IP functions. The development kit costs only about 150-160$ (It consists of two boards. It is not necessary to purchase both of them, but at the end you'll see that it would be good to do so). You can also request from Maxim/Dallas to send you samples. You can order the samples and the development kit from Maxim's site. I don't know about Hong Kong, but here in Greece Maxim sent me samples in about 1,5 week from the day I order them. Apart from the DS80C400 uC, you will need a PHY chip (Don't ask me about this. I don't know that much about TCP/IP), a coupling transformer and an RJ45 connector.

Note that, as far as I know from a friend that uses the same chip for a project of his own, you can program the DS80C400, not only with assembly and C, but with Java as well, if you know Java of course...

And if you need desperately the USB interface you can use a USB chip from FTDI, that I think it is not so hard to program.

For further information concerning the chips mentioned above go to:

Happy programming!
