Dear patrick,

  • If you follow the algorithm it'll be like that

    A contains data to be sent
    after ORL A,#0F0h and ORL DATA,#0F0h
    A will contains Fbh (if b means 4 bits to be displayed) and DATA will contain F0h
    So ANL DATA,A make DATA contains Fbh not b0h as was required to display upper nipple.

    Note: i'm refering with bh to bits to be displayed either (4..7) or (0..3).

  • The correct is to be :-

    ORL A,#0Fh
    ORL DATA,#0F0h

    A will contains bFh (if b means 4 bits to be displayed and DATA will contain F0h

    ANL DATA,A

    make DATA contains b0h as was required to display upper nipple.

    Note:- The same will be applied for other nipple
