#63028 - Sherlock Amro Homes
Responding to: ???'s previous message
The factory of this machine cleared the ic data and number from the ic surface.
If there is a way to know the ic tell me? I thought it's ULN2003, but iam not sure of it. So any help?

Amro,

I recommend you two methodes:

1. If your chip is damaged, then probably only one output transistor is damaged. With a bit luck rest circuitry is ok. Then, have a look into datasheet of ULN2003, and try to test, whether remaining circuitry of chip shows performance that could be expected from datasheet.
This methode needs a chip which is as undamaged as possible, of course, and it will fail, when too much is damaged.
By the way, a damaged transistor often presents a short circuit from output to power supply rail. By other words, collector emitter path looks like a short circuit. This is often the consequence from thermal overload. Then ions wander into pn junction and result in an 'alloying' of depleted space charge region, which makes the short circuit.

2. If chip is too damaged and methode 1 is impossible, try methode 2: Desolder the chip, remove carefully epoxid cover on top until die is free. Then put it under microscope. With a bit of luck, you will find the name of manufacturer and the name of chip.

Good luck,
Kai

PS: May be, a friendly phone call to manufacturer will provide you with wished information. This would be methode number 3...
