Oh no, it's happening again! Wye, delta, it's hurting my head!
Oh yes, apparent power is VI* which is the vector sum of the real and reactive powers. Yes, I did look it up! :) So, what are we interested in here? Real power? My point was just to mention that it isn't a matter of taking a current and voltage reading and deciding on the power by their product. If I am the supplier I would like to bill on the apparent power (since most systems tend to be reactive). If I am the user I want to correct the apparent power so that it more closely resembles the real power which is doing my work. So, which is it here? This is really starting to hurt. Allen |
