That's more like a solution. If it wasn't for the fact that you'll need something slightly better than the standard antenna delivered with the 802.11 boxes. Unless you use a directional antenna, you won't get more than some 300m (metres, not miles for the non-SI people :-)). And don't forget you'll also need line of sight.
