See.. http://www.arieselec.com/products/12030.pdf I had to use just such part on a prototype I made a couple of years ago. I had designed in these DIP-28 FIFO chips that I put on this multi layer board as 0.6 inch wide foot prints. I discovered only later that TI only offered 32K byte FIFOs in 0.3 inch wide packages. Keep in mind that the above referenced devices are rather expensive at >$11 US each at Digikey. Not suitable for manufacturing but a blessing to save a first article prototype or development board.
