#65090 - RE: 8051/8255 interfacing
Responding to: ???'s previous message
can u suggest some way to increase the no i/o ports ....i mean any alternative to 8255.

First suggestion: is it really so hard for you to type "you" properly? Please, stop this SMS nonsense - you're not on a mobile phone now!

CPLDs have already been suggested.

ST's PSDs are another: http://www.st.com/stonline/.../index.htm

Maybe a Triscend E5: http://www.triscend.com/products/e5.htm

or any of the many modern derivatives with loads of IO - see the 'Chips' link, or try the parametric search on Keil's device database:
http://www.keil.com/dd/parm_search.asp

Or an IO expander on I2C, Dallas 1-Wire, SPI, etc, etc,...
