After reading the timing diagrams it seems so simple. Why havn't anyone done anything with this before?
I mean, it looks like all you have to do is fire up the moter, and just send a writing signal. From what the specs say, its just a MAJOR timing issue when it comes to writing. But it looks as if the drive SUPPORTS writing up to 1mbps. I bet if you only want to save 100-300k, you could write at a slower speed.. Another question, could you set up SPI to download that data? I mean in "theory" you could make a clock that starts on the edge of the INDEX pin, interupt the processor, to imedently start recording eveything from the SPI. But then there is that timing issue again. Though I guess you have it rotate around the track a few times, compairing the bits read. |
