You mean to tell us that you haven't make a bad judgement? We all have to learn - if not as if we leave university with a lifetime of experience. The best lessons are normally learnt from hard-won experience. I dare say Bartosz has a much better appreciation of optical encoders. Had he not investigated these he would be none the wiser. Hopefully with this forum we're spreading our collective knowlege around.

My lesson for the week was that 1w transzorbs aren't too good for passing the surge immunity test EN50082-1. The addition of a MOV solved this issue.
