Erik, if my school could provide budget to order all parts necessary, custom made, I wouldn't think twice. But our budget for the WHOLE project is about $200. That is including the µC, mechanics, motor drivers, motors, everything. We HAVE to manage on our own and find any solutions we can. If we find employer that can provide all materials and equipment their employees desire, then great for us and great for them. But if (much more probable) find work in a company that saves on equipment costs, uses second hand hardware, tries to get broken equipment fixed, not just replaced, we just become more valuable employees.
