#65986 - don't look like triangulation... Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Harish,
could you post a picture of what you intend to do? You talk about *triangulation*, so we assume that the targest are outside and, probably, fixed outside the vehicle. But you also talk about counting pulses from a step motor, so I think about an encoder attached to the vehicles traction/movement wheels. So, where the targets are? Inside or outside the vehicle. A picture is worth more than a thousand words... About missing steps: the real world is a bitch. your vehicle can slip, loose traction or even got stuck with some obstacle, with wheels turning at full speed and not going nowhere. Are you accounting that type of error? How? Your autonomous vehicle size? Do you look for small room autonomy? Or crossing the Sahara? Even for a small room just two targets outside the vehicle may be not enough. Movement and obstacle avoidance is easy only when you talk about living beings. For a machine it's almost a holy grail. All techniques that I found "cheat" someway: GPS signal, color pattern in the ground -like going from white and fading to black, so the greyscale indicates the direction, markers, pulse counting... each has some error to deal. Give more details about your project and maybe someone can give you some advice. hth orlando |
