#66120 - RE: Tyre monitors? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
There are now a number of sources of devices intended for monitoring tyre condition on cars (I think this is due to recent US legislation?).
They're intended to go inside the tyre, transmitting to a receiver nearby on the bodywork. One such product for monitoring and runtime inflation, that I happened to have developed the firmware for is here: http://www.cycloid.com/page2.htm Another technology to consider is RFID (transponder vs. transmitter). Again, I have developed the firmware for many applications for http://www.phaseivengr.com using applying their RFIQ (ID, temperature, pressure) sensor a variety of ways. I mention what I have done only to demonstrate from firsthand experience that RF and RFID as a viable technology for "moving mechanism" applications. |
