#66514 - zero-cross and trigger, not PWM? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
about the project that Gaurang Vyas is trying to implement Oleg Sergeev and Andy Neil discussed about rectifyng the AC and then controlling the rectified output to the desired value (0V to 120V, 1V steps), since triacs control power and not voltage.
BUT: with zero croos detection and controlled triggering of the triac can't you control the wave form and the effective voltage? ex. a triac triggered at 0 degrees, cutted at 90, triggered at 180 and cutted again at 270 degress wouldn't generate a waveform that has an effective voltage of 60V? Am I correct? If I am correct the implementation of that circuit is left as an exercise for the reader :-) hth orlando |
