#66766 - RE: Atmel: new device AT89S8253
Responding to: ???'s previous message
hi,
BTW, if we talk about 8051 chips - has somebody here tried this device: http://www.winedge.com.sg/data_shee...rev100.pdf

It looks interested; unfortunatelly it is not sold here and I doubt that it is available somewhere:

Features
• Up to 12 times faster than the original 805x.
• Fast interrupt response times.
• 12 interrupt sources with 2 external interrupt inputs.
• 2 Data Pointers for faster memory copies and indexing.
• One Standard 8051 serial port
• 2 Serial interfaces – SIO
• 2 channel 8-bit A/D converter
• 32 bi-directional I/O ports
• Real-time Clock.
• Watch dog timer.
• Three 8-bit programmable timer/event counters
• Built-in voltage detector for power on reset.
• 128 Kilobytes Mask Program ROM
• 1 Kbytes Program RAM
• 4 Kbytes Data RAM
• 256 Kbytes Data ROM
• Built-in 76.8KHz crystal oscillator
• 100-pin LQFP package

It has much more features than indicated above: new instructions, extended memory bus etc. Some things look even better than Sygnal offers.

Regards,
Oleg
