I think now IAR probably makes most of their business with their ARM compilers.

I happen to work with AVR a lot, so it would be natural to go with the IAR compiler. But I'm cheap enough that it was just as natural to try CodeVisionAVR which was a tiny fraction of the cost. I bought CVAVR and have used it for a couple of years, with good support from the author.

If there was something preventing me from using my old version of my IAR 8051 compiler, I'd go with Keil.
